Purity - A Right Perspective

Brethren, we live in a culture that seeks to rob us of our purity. We live in a generation that has labeled purity as a thing of the past. I encourage you to read the verses below and to meditate on them. Purity is a chief gem in the crown of the righteous.

Psalms 119:9

Wherewithal shall a young man cleanse his way? By taking heed thereto according to thy word.

2 Timothy 2:22

Flee also youthful lusts: but follow righteousness, faith, charity, peace, with them that call on the Lord out of a pure heart.

Matthew 5:8

Blessed are the pure in heart; for they shall see God.

1 Timothy 4:12

Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the   believers, in word, in conversation(conduct), in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity.

2 Samuel 22:27

With the pure thou wilt show thyself pure; and with the froward thou wilt show thyself unsavory.

Job 8:6

If thou wert pure and upright; surely now he would awake for thee, and make the habitation of thy righteousness prosperous.

Psalm 24:3-5

Who shall ascend the hill of the Lord? Or who shall stand in his holy place? He that hath clean hands, and a pure heart; who hath not lifted up his soul unto vanity, nor sworn deceitfully. He shall receive the blessing from the Lord, and righteousness from the God of his salvation.

Proverbs 15:26

The thoughts of the wicked are an abomination to the Lord: but the words of the pure are pleasant words.

Proverbs 20:11

Even a child is known by his doings, whether his work be pure, and whether it be right.

Proverbs 21:8

The way of a man is froward and strange: but as for the pure, his work is right.

Proverbs 22:11

He that loveth pureness of heart, for the grace of his lips the king shall be his friend.

Malachi 1:11

For from the rising of the sun even to the going down of the same my name shall be great among the gentiles; and in every place incense shall be offered unto my name, and a pure offering; for my name shall be great among the heathen, saith the Lord of Hosts.

1 Timothy 1:5

Now the end of the commandment is charity out of a pure heart, and of a good conscience, and of faith unfeigned.

Phillipians 4:8

Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things of good report; if there be any praise, think on these things.

Sola Deo Gloria
